Thanh niên là một nhóm xã hội đóng vai trò quan trọng đến sự phát triển ở mỗi quốc gia. Tuy nhiên, thanh niên cũng là một nhóm dễ bị tổn thương khi các điều kiện kinh tế - xã hội thay đổi. Thất nghiệp là vấn đề lớn đối với thanh niên trên phạm vi toàn cầu và ở Việt Nam với nhiều hệ quả tiêu cực ngắn hạn và dài hạn. Bài viết nhằm tổng thuật và giới thiệu các hướng nghiên cứu về vấn đề thất nghiệp của thanh niên, các hệ quả và phân tích vai trò của đào tạo nghề trong việc tìm kiếm việc làm, hạn chế thất nghiệp, tăng thu nhập cho thanh niên thế giới và Việt Nam.

Young people are an important social group in each nation’s development. However, in the development process, young people are seen as a vulnerable group facing socioeconomic changes, including unemployment at both national and global levels. This caused many different negative issues in young people’s lives not only in the short term but also in the long term. To support them in looking for and accessing qualified jobs, a vocational training system is mentioned as the most effective solution. The article focuses on analyzing research trends on youth unemployment considering its negative effects. From that, the author concludes that vocational training plays the role of an effective solution to help the youth in achieving a higher quality of life.
