Hanoi Medical University hospital use blood components, which are provided from the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion. Objective: Analysis the current status of supplying and using blood products in HMU hospital. Methods: Statistics and analysis the data of providing and transfusion of blood components used in hospital from 7/2010 to 12/2011. Results: in 2011, the amount of blood products were transfused increase over 3.11 times (in comperision with the number of using over the last 6 months of 2010). Red blood cell component is the most used with 87.12 percent. Dept. of Internal medicine and Dept. of Cancer used 26.72 percent and 20.72 percent in total of blood components used of hospital. The lowest rate of supply is red blood cell components (68.72 percent of user requirements). Conclusion: the need to use blood products in the HMU hospital is rising. Howerver, the ability of providing blood products sometimes unreached the requirements.
