Microdeletion in AZFd region on Y chromosome has recently been identified as a certain proportion in male with azoospermia and oligospermia. Objective: To detect microdeletion in AZFd region on Y chromosome by using multiplex PCR analysis. Subjects and methods: A total of 230 infertile men with non-obstructive azoospermia or oligospermia were selected for DNA study of Y chromosome microdeletion in AZFd region. Results: 11/230 patients (4.78 percent) showed microdeletion in AZFd region on Y chromosome, that include 3/11 (27.3 percent) patients have microdeletion at locus sY152, 8/11 (72.7 percent) patients have microdeletion at locus sY152 and PBY2 and without in PBY2 locus only. Among AZFd microdeletion case, azoospermia patients accounted for 72.7 percent, oligospermia patients accounted for 27.3 percent. Conclusion: the results indicate that microdeletion in AZFd region on Y chromosome in infertile men is not small proportion. AZFd microdeletion occurs in both azoospermia and oligospermia patients.
