Transmissible gastroenteritis (TGE) is a highly contagious, acute disease, causing economic loss in the pig production. Five intestine and fecal samples were collected from the diarrheal pigs in the farms in Thai Binh and Bac Ninh provinces in 2015 was used for identifying TGEV by rapid kit and RT-PCR technique. The studied results showed that 5/5 samples were positive with TGEV. The result of S gene sequence analysis indicated that five Vietnamese TGEV isolates shared a high similarity level of nucleotide sequence (99.5 – 100%) and amino acid sequence (98.9 – 100%). The similarity level of nucleotide and amino acid sequences of these isolates compared to those of the Chinese vaccine TGEV strain (Genbank accession number EU074218) was 99.1 – 99.3% and 97.9 – 98.2%, respectively.
