Tidal flats in the central coast are the place which was focus distributed by Sargassum in Vietnam. Natural production is about 20,000 dry tons in annual. But now this resource was exploiting by people spontaneously and not follow any manager, this will lead to a decline or may disappear. Based on the results of scientific research on the status of Sargassum resources of the Khanh Hoa Department of Science and Technology, in 2008-20/0 by the interview of people, and field surveys combined with analysis of remote sensing images, suggests that standing crop in Khanh Hoa in 2009 is 7,300 tons of dry/year over the distribution area is 1167.33 ha. The authors have been proposing some solution of protection, exploitation, restoration, sustainable development of Sargassum resource as: Time to harvest: Belong to the depths of the seaweed flats as follows: The shallow seaweed flats 3 m , harvest time in April; - The seaweed flats of 5-6 m deep, harvest time in May; - The underground seaweed reef of 10-15 m depth. harvest time is in August. How to exploit: When you harvest Sargassum which should be cut the main stem leaves 10 cm is best to be able to re-grow and further development of receptacles. Solutions of resource protection: - For coastal seaweed flats near residential areas: zoning and assigned to groups (group 5-10 households) have the same residential area near the seaweed flats to selfmanagement of mining and declared taxable resources; - For seaweed flats offshore andfarfrom residential areas: in the form of tender. . Solution of recovelY: Recovery is conduct to some seaweed areas of desertification or land filling the remaining substrate is too deep that no light penetrates into the substrate by creating artificial reefs model. . Soh{tion culture: research methods by cultivating and propagating seedlings from spores or branch as floating raft systems, the bottom tension ropes, planting seedlings on the bottom, so drop spores to reduce fishing pressure naturally.
