Two famous writers, Son Nam and Nguyen Ngoc Tu, who come from two different generations, are credited with increasing the power of language and providing an abundance of new expressions. The stronger and more sustainable the grammar and phonetics are, the more the efficient are the expressions. The Mekong Delta is said to have influenced and enriched Vietnamese life at many levels. Son Nam and Nguyen Ngoc Tu wrote about people from all walks of life and the details of their everyday lives' has identified and expressed local color... Using expressive, local terms, the two Southern writers show an appreciation of the cultural values that rooted deeply in Southern Vietnamese people.
