Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the domestic industries in general and the domestic construction industry in particular have fallen into a very difficult situation, many projects have been delayed or construction has been in moderation due to many reasons such as shortage of human resources, shortage of capital, soaring prices of construction materials and supply chain challenges due to the pandemic, etc. As a result, many construction enterprises have had to suspend operations or go bankrupt due to loss or failure to find a new construction contract. However, up to now, Vietnam has basically controlled and prevented the pandemic; all field operations in general, including the construction industry, have taken place normally. On the other hand, thanks to a series of positive factors of 2022, it is a highlight and a golden opportunity for construction enterprises to recover, accelerate again and make a breakthrough after the COVID-19 pandemic. This study analyzes the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the construction industry, thereby identifying and forecasting opportunities and prospects for Vietnam's construction industry in 2022 on the basis of analyzing positive factors as well as on the basis of the author's construction management experience.
