The study aimed at describing some characteristics of blood cells and blood coagulation tests in third trimester pregnant women. Subjects: 60 pregnants over 30 weeks of gestation who were managed by Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital (study group) and 20 healthy women in reproducible age (control group). The research parameters were platelet count, PT, APTT, plasma fibrinogen concentration, RBC, Hb, MCV, MCH, MCHC,: WBC by using XT1800i Hematology-Analyzer and CA 1500 fully-automated blood coagulation analyser. The results showed that platelet count in the study group was 197.33 + or - 69.5 GII, APTTs was 27.32 + or - 1.42s, rAPTT was 0.95 + or - 0.05, PTs was 11.25 + or - 0.54s, PT percent was 105.85 + or - 14.88 percent, PT-INR was 0.96 + or - 0.25, and plasma fibrinogen concentration was 3.90 + or - 0.47g/l. The longer pregnancy time, the higher plasma fibrinogen concentration. RBC was 4.02 + or - 0.50 T/I, Hb concentration was 119.20 + or - 10.11 g/I, MCV was 90.23 + or - 8.40 fl, MCH was 29.92 + or - 3.02 pg, MCHC was 331.43 + or - 11.41 g/l, WBC was 10.49 + or - 2.60 G/I. Anemia was detected in 35 percent pregnant women. Thus, excepted PT, the remaining coagulation parameters changed significantly in comparision with the control group while no significant differences about blood cell tests between two groups. The rate of anemia in the pregnant women was 35 percent.
