From this practical investigation, it can be seen that current woody plant resource of greenery Iandscape across urban areas in Tra Vinh city has 55,456 trees which are belonging to 88 species, 72 genera of 34 plant families. Of those 20,991 trees are under 6m in height (type 1); 15,582 trees are in the height of 6-12m (type 2) and 18,883 trees are above 12m (type 3). Majority of these trees are growing good, except for 195 trees (accounting for 0.35 percent of total) which are in disease, crown chopped and fallen down, The total area of tree shade is 1,280,832.07 m2, and the average of tree shade area per person is 9.75m2/person which is within the standard of the Ministry of Construction (2006). There are 6 species having the total number of trees above 1,000; in particular, the Dipterocarpus alatus Roxb. ex G. Don having the largest number of trees with 39,752, accounting for 71.68 percent of total.
