Nowadays, there are more and more high-rise buildings. Increasing building height leads to sensitivity to dynamic loads such as wind or earthquakes, which makes horizontal loads transmitted to the building much larger. At that time, the crosssection of columns, walls, and reinforcement in the structure increased, affecting the aesthetic factor as well as the construction cost. Vibration control for high-rise buildings has been much considered in recent years. Roof water tank as tuned liquid damper have many advantages and are suitable for Vietnam conditions, so it is worth studying. In this article, the characteristic of the structure and MTLD are analyzed by ANSYS software. The results show that the damping efficiency of this device is up to 85% in the case of harmonic loading. This result is consistent with the experiment on the shaking table verified at the Earthquake Laboratory of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education.
