Important skills for workers in the 21st century include technical skills and personal development skills. Recognizing the role of laying the foundation to form awareness and create motivation to practice personal development skills for students, the Soft Skills subject has been developed by the Institute of Technical Education, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (for course 52 according to the 2017 Training Program of Hanoi University of Science and Technology) for Technical Education students and students throughout the school to study free elective courses. From the 2019 Program of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, when the social support knowledge block became a mandatory knowledge block for students to study, the Soft Skills subject became one of the elective subjects of the supplementary knowledge block for social support. Up to now, the number of students studying Soft Skills is about 2,500 students on average per semester. The number of students choosing this subject is increasing, partly due to students' awareness of the necessary skills for their career. In addition, the teaching team of the Institute of Technical Education also constantly innovates teaching methods to bring teaching effectiveness and promote conditions for training personal skills for students. Therefore, this article would like to introduce a plan for the teaching of Soft Skills for students using an active learning method, with an in-depth orientation on training and promoting presentation skills.
