Toxic organic compounds in used Huu nghi and Bong sen cigarette filter with adsorbent were extracted by n-hexane and ethyl acetate solvents in soxhlet. Extracts containing benzopyrene and Nnitrosamine were determined by UV-Vis spectroscopy at 250-350 nm. The adsorbence of the extracts is proportional with the amount of the adsorbents in the filter and the percentage of toxic organic compounds in tobacco. UV-Vis results showed that toxic organic compounds in tobacco lowlevel (Bong sen) are higher than the toxic organic compounds in higher cigarettes (Huu nghi).
