This paper presents the investigation, determination and strengthening of the post-tensioning silo with the height greater than 80 m. Selection of the strengthening solutions depends on the correct determination of the damage causes. Prestressed structures usually require strict construction quality control, especially to avoid cracks. During recent ten years, construction of the prestressed concrete structures was quite .popular in Vietnam. To review and evaluate these prestressed structures in terms of quality after a quite long-time of use may be neccessary. These works may help to overcome the shortcomings due to the imported technology and materials, not skillfull workmanship and lacks of good complete calculation method consdiering the Vietnamese conditions. These works are needed to be carried out to improve the quality of the prestressed structures, ensuring the structure safety.
