This study investigates the density, distribution, and species composition of fish eggs and larvae in the coastal wetlands of Quang Nam province. the results showed that the average density of September 2007 is higher than in December 2007. In terms of geographic distribution fish eggs and larvae in the area south of An Hoa to Binh Nam is more abundant than in the northern area of Cua Dai to Cam An. Majority of collected fish eggs is of the Short head anchovy Encrasichofina heterofoba, followed by the Red anchovy Encrasichofina punctiferi. The composition of larvae is less diverse than the eggs, only 17 families belong eight orders were recorded and the most dominant family is the Gobies (Gobiidae), followed by the Combtooth blennies (Blenniidae) and the Cardinalfishes (Apogonidae). The composition of fish eggs and larvae in coastal wetlands of Quang Nam is dominated by the small-sized fishes, for example the Gobies (Gobiidae), the Combtooth blennies (Blenniidae), Cardinalfishes (Apogonidae), Silversides (Athrinidae) and the small group of coastal pelagic fishes like ponyfishes (Leiognathidae), herring (Clupeidae), and anchovy (Engraulidae). The groups of fishes living along estuaries, bays, lagoons as smelt-whitings (Sillago) and Mojarras (Gerreidae) have relatively low density, however, the authors did not obtain the larvae of Drum (croakers) (Sciaenidae), Mullet (Mugillidae), Threadfins (Polynemidae), Grunters (Tigerperches) (Theraponidae) in the study sites.
