Nghề giáo là một nghề nghiệp đặc thù. Có nhiều nghiên cứu quốc tế về áp lực của giáo viên (GV), nhưng ở Việt Nam, các nghiên cứu này còn khá hạn chế. Bài viết trình bày kết quả nghiên cứu định tính về áp lực công việc của GV trung học phổ thông (THPT) trên địa bàn Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh (TPHCM). Kết quả phỏng vấn 30 GV cho thấy GV chịu áp lực nhiều nhất từ các công việc hành chính, khối lượng công việc, áp lực liên quan đến chuyên môn, rồi đến áp lực từ ứng xử, thái độ của học sinh (HS), và cuối cùng là áp lực kinh tế. Bài viết cũng đưa ra các hàm ý quản trị liên quan đến áp lực của nghề giáo.

Teaching is a unique profession. Many international studies have been conducted on teacher stress, yet limited studies on this aspect have been carried out in the Vietnamese context. This article presents the results of qualitative research on the stress of high school teachers in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). The results of in-depth interviews with 30 teachers show that teachers are under the most pressure from administrative tasks, high workload, professional tasks, followed by stress from students’ (problematic) behaviors and attitudes, and income. The article also provides governance implications related to teachers’ stress.
