Objective: to consider correlation of clinical features and histopathology of tonsils pathology. Patients and method: A prospective descriptive study with interventional analysis was performed at ENT Department- Nhan Dan Gia Dinh hospital. Patients were consulted and diagnosed of tonsils pathology and went under tonsilectomy, then tonsils speciments were sent for histopathological analysis. An observational result between diagnosis, clinical features and histopathologic result was done. Result and discussion: 105 patients had tonsils pathology, including clinical diagnosis of bilateral hypertrophic tonsilllitis at 84,76 percent, sclerotic atrophy at 15,2 4 percent, pus surface socket at 85,71 percent. There was rate of 4,75 percent of tonsils cancer. Considering histopathologic results, chronic tonsillitis was at 65,72 percent, subacute at 20 percent and acute pus surface socket at 9,55 percent, tonsils cancer at 1,9 percent. Therefore, there was appropriate correlation between clinical features and histopathologic results. There were only 2 patients having incorrect clinical diagnosis of cancer but histopathologic diagnosis showed chronic tonsillitis. Conclusion: Consideration of clinical features and histopathology in tonsils pathology is essential, helps a correct tonsilectomy and an early detection tonsils cancer.
