Lumbar - waist syndrome due to herniated lumbar disc is very common disease in the world as well as in Vietnam. The study was conducted to evaluate the effect of the combining Than thong truc u thang decoction, electro - acupuncture and lumbar traction on treatment for lumbar - waist syndrome due to herniated lumbar disc. The results show that control group gains very, good 16.4 percent, good 47.3 percent, moderate 36.4 percent. Study group has better result (p 0.01) with very good 32.7 percent, good 67.3 percent. There was not any unexpected effect observed in this trial. In conlusion, the combining Than thong truc u thang decoction, electro-acupuncture and lumbar traction was safe method and showed good effect on treatment for lumbar - waist syndrome due to herniated lumbar disc.
