Understanding the impacts of processing parameters on the quality of printing products is crucial, since it may directly impact the performance of treatment. Method: Methylprednisolone-loaded printing laments were prepared by coating the suspension of the drug substance onto pre-made laments which were subsequently used for printing dosage forms (printlets). The eects of printing parameters, namely printing temperature, printing speed, layer thickness, inll, and printing patterns, on the quality attributes of the dosage forms were investigated. The prepared printlets were characterized in terms of shape, resolution, uniformity, dimension, hardness, and dissolution. Results: It was found that the appearance, hardness, and uniformity of the prinlets were largely aected by the aforementioned factors. Drug release proles could be controlled by inll parameter while the shape of the dosage forms exhibited minimal eects on the dissolution of the printlets. Conclusions: The obtained results suggested that operation parameters need to be optimized and controlled carefully throughout the printing process.
