Skin and soft tissue wounds usually account for a significant proportion of disease patterns in most countries, including Vietnam, and tend to increase. Skin lesions are often accompanied by fungal and bacterial superinfections. Therefore, prevention and treatment face many difficulties, especially in the situation of antibiotic resistance, unwanted effects of drugs and the influence of underlying diseases leading to difficult wound healing. In fact, many antibacterial peptides are already being put into clinical trials at different phases. This review focuses on the potential application of antimicrobial peptides in supporting wound healing management.
