In Vietnam, the Nung people live mainly in the Northeast mountainous area. In the Cao Bang province, the Nung people have a population of 157,607 people, residing mainly in 4 districts: Phuc Hoa, Quang Uyen, Ha Lang and Tra Linh (currently 3 districts of Quang Hoa, Trung Khanh and Ha Lang). As the Nung people live in the border area close to the Zhuang Autonomous Region of Guangxi province, China, local Nung people still retain many traditional cultural features of their ethnic group and has always been a cultural exchange between the Nung people and other ethnic groups on both sides of the Vietnam-China border, through this exchange they create a diverse modern Nung culture.
