Currently, injuries in general and otolaryngologic (ENT) injuries in particular are becoming more and more complicated. Objectives: Determine the situation of ENT injuries examined and treated in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of Thai Nguyen General Central Hospital in 2014. Methods: Prospective descriptive study. Findings: ENT injuries occurs more in men more than women (74.2 percent and 25.8 percent, respectively). People usually suffer from ENT injuries in their adulthood with 59.7 percent of people with ENT injuries aging from 16-40. People working in agriculture have higher ENT injury rate of 31 percent. The majority of ENT injured patients are victims of traffic accidents (48.3 percent) and accidents in normal life (27.4 percent). 66.1 percent of patients get to hospital within 6 hours after injury. The most commonly injured organs are ears (48.4 percent) and noses (54.8 percent). The rate of patients with complete and partly recovery is high (96.7 percent). The rates of patients with influence of injury on their physical appearance and functions are noteworthy (9.7 percent and 12.9 percent, respectively). Recommendation: Education for raising awareness of health issues in community should be enhanced to prevent and avoid ENT injuries.
