Objective: to describe the situation of drug use, mv infection among young men 15-24 years in a ward of the township of Cam Pha, Quang Ninh province in 2008. Subjects and methods: a cross-sectional descriptive study was performed on 572 young men 15-24 years old who living in a town wards of Carn Pha, Quang Ninh. The study period was in 12/2008. Results: The rate of drug use was high (12.8 percent), IDU rate was 0.4 percent. The median age of starting drug use was 18. Marijuana, Cannabis were used commonly. Forms of drug use mostly were smoke, inhalation or swallow of drugs. HIV prevalence among young men 15-24 years at Cam Pha was 0.5 percent. Conclusion: rate of young men aged 15-24 who had ever used drug were high and HIV infection rate was similar overall infection rate nationwide.
