The purpose of this research was to analyze the current situation of the voluntary social insurance (VSI) of Vinh Phuc local workers and to propose some solutions to improve their engagement. The research was conducted on 200 workers in 4 selected districts, cities in Vinh Phuc province. The results showed that the number of workers registering in VSI increased butacconted for only a small portion of working people. The increased rise of number ged in VSI differed interms of age, payment level, occupation and residence location. Combined with information gathered during interviews, the authors proposed threer solutions to increase the engagement in VSI of workers in the province. These are: (1) Improving awareness of VSI among workers, (2) providing better services of social insurance agencies, and (3) providing support policy for vulnerable groups.
