A trial on semi-intensive culture of black carp (Mylopharyngodon piceus) used commercial pellet feed of 3 protein levels 25, 30 and 35 percent was conducted for a period of 3 months in practice condition at Dinh Bang Aquacultural Cooperation, Bac Ninh. The trial was completely randomized design in 9 pilots (3 treatments x 3 replicates), the volume of the pilot were 20 m x 30 m x 1.5 m, all the pilots were set in the same ponds with the stocking density of 2 fish/m2. Black carp were fed 3 commercial feed twice a day at rate of 3-4 percent fish body weight per day. Survival rate of black carp was very high and reached approximately 99.0 percent. The highest and lowest growth performance of black carp was obtained in fish fed with pellets of 35 percent and 25 percent protein respectively. The growth rate and feed cost of black carp were significantly different among treatments used feed containing 30 percent and 35 percent protein compared to feed containing 25 percent protein (P0.05). Size of fish from 30-60 g/fish was recommended to use pellet feed contain 35 percent of protein. Size of fish up 60-150 g/fish should be used pellet feed contain 30-35 percent of protein.
