Nghiên cứu về bình đẳng giới ở vùng dân tộc thiểu số là cần thiết nhằm tìm ra khoảng cách giới đổi với phụ nữ dân tộc thiểu số (DTTS) trong các lĩnh vực khác nhau của đời sống xã hội. Bài viết phân tích một sổ lý thuyết và phương pháp tiếp cận để thấy được sự phù hợp và khả năng áp dụng trong nghiên cứu, giải thích vấn đề bất bình đẳng giới ở vùng DTTS nước ta. Qua đó, tác giả nhấn mạnh nghiên cứu về bình đẳng giới ở vùng DTTS cần sử dụng các phương pháp tiếp cận, các lý thuyết nhằm giải thích tốt nhất vấn đề giới trong các lĩnh vực chính trị, giáo dục và đào tạo, lao động và việc làm, chăm sóc sức khỏe, các vấn đề bạo lực giới; cung cấp cơ sở lý luận nền tảng nhằm chỉ ra các vẩn đề giới cấp thiết đổi với người dân vùng DTTS, giúp họ phát huy được sự chủ động, tự tin, tự chủ. Bài viết phân tích việc ứng dụng các lý thuyết và phương pháp tiếp cận trong Đề tài “Những vấn đề cơ bản và cấp bách về dân tộc thiểu số và chính sách dân tộc ở Việt Nam đến năm 2030” của Viện Nghiên cứu Gia đình và Giới.

Researching gender equality in ethnic minority areas is essential to find out gender gaps for ethnic minority women in different aspects of social life. The paper analyzes a number of theories and approaches to see the applicability of researches on gender inequality in ethnic minority areas in Vietnam. Thereby, the author emphasizes that the researches on gender equality in ethnic minority areas should apply approaches and theories to give best explanations to gender issues in politics, education and training, labour and employment, health care, gender-based violence; to provide a theoretical basis to point out urgent gender issues for ethnic minority people, to help them promoting their proactivity, confidence and self-autonomy.
