Compoment of rice pests in North Vietnam are numerous with 28 kinds of diseases and 24 kinds of insects. The blast is severe in spring rice in Red river delta and old 4th zone. Blast injected rice varieties in combination with too much N fertilizer application were severely harmed by diseases. Rice was severely harmed by borers in late spring crop, too. Especialy many diseases and insects apear on Chinese rice varieties.
