The study was conducted on 287 healthcare workers at various provincial/city hospitals in 7 key provinces/cities considered as COVID-19 hotspots to learn the characteristics of this group's participation in the fight against the epidemic in the period of 2021 - 2022. The study was a cross-sectional study. Research results showed that the task of most provincial healthcare workers when participating in the fight against the epidemic was to treat and care for patients. The percentage of provincial healthcare workers trained in knowledge to respond to the COVID-19 epidemic reached a high level (> 65%), especially the content of using personal protective equipment (PPE) properly. The provision of personal protective equipment for health workers is also guaranteed during anti-epidemic participation (90 - 99%), however, the logistical support in 2022 was assessed less fully than that in 2021. Provincial healthcare workers experienced many anxiety problems when participating in the fight against the epidemic for the first time in 2021. After the adaptation process, the anxiety and negative emotions among healthcare workers tended to decrease in 2022.
