This paper explained various fluctuations patterns of Vietnam inflation during period of 2006-2013. The fluctuations of inflation stemmed from different causes such as long lasting and hot credit growth, or a combination of expansionary monetary policy and fiscal policy. This paper also analyzed a decomposition of inflation rate into eleven different groups of goods in order to illuminate inflation rate to the extent of proportional contribution. The paper applied the ARIMA-X12 model to forecast inflation rate of 2014 and suggest implications for implementing monetary policy in Vietnam.
