Besides generalisation of the basic content of UNCLOS, especially the provisions relating to delimitation of the sea under sovereignty (internal waters and territorial sea); under the sovereign and jurisdiction rights of the coastal states (contiguous zone, EEZ and continental shelf) and community waters (high seas and area), this article analyses the controversial provisions relating to the legal regime of the internal waters; the determination of the baseline; the legal regime of the EEZ and continental shelf and the identification of the geographical entities at the sea as well as their legal status.
