In recent years, Vietnam's commercial sector has made significant achievements, contributing to a significant change in both domestic and international market. Commodities markets continue to become diverse; import-export activities have been promoted; commodity structure of export and import has made positive changes; the type of services associated with production and circulation of goods have been developed as well. Also law and policies on managing commercial sector and market had important strides. However, besides that there are still many issues related to the topic. Therefore, within the scope of the article, the authors would like to present an overview about commercial development in Vietnam on the basis of assessments about key development indicators of current commercial sector.
