Effect of electro-acupunture combined with Luc Vi Dia Hoang pill on mental function rehabilitation in pediatric patients after acute stage of encephalitis

The purpose of this study was to investigate the clinical safety and effect of electroacupuncture combined with Luc vi dia hoang pill on mental function rehabilitation in pediatric patients after acute stage of encephalitis. Method: prospective study, comparing before .and after treatment. The results showed that electro-acupuncture combined with Luc vi dia hoang pill had good treatment effect. The treatment resulted in decreased consciousness disorder in treatment group better than the control group (p 0.05). The Denver II development screening test in social interaction and language ability were increased after treatment in both groups (p 0.05). The social interaction and language ability improvement in the treatment group was better than the control group. But stasticial analysis showed no significant differences between the two groups with p 0.05. There were no side effects observed in clinical appearance and paraclinical indicators. Conclusion: Electro-acupuncture methods C'ombined with Luc vi dia hoang pill had effect on mental function rehabilitation in pediatric patients after. acute stage of encephalitis without undesirable effect during 8 weeks treatment.
