The need for achievement of post-graduate social students in social sciences and humanities was examined on 120 students at the Academy of Politics. This article evaluated students' need for achievement, their awareness of the need for achievement in learning and research, the relationship between educational background and the need for achievement, manifestations of the need for achievement, factors predicting this need and psychologicalpedagogical solutions to promote students' need for achievement.
