Công tác xã hội là một nghề chuyên nghiệp có quá trình hình thành và phát triển hơn một thế kỷ nay trên thế giới. Công tác xã hội có tính liên quan ngành và xuyên ngành, dựa trên nhiều lý thuyết khoa học và nghiên cứu thực chứng. Để thực hiện các dịch vụ cung cấp cho những nhóm đối tượng yếu thế và người có nhu cầu, công tác xã hội cũng xây dựng và áp dụng mô hình thực hành phù hợp nhằm hỗ trợ khách hàng giải quyết những vấn đề của mình dựa trên những điểm mạnh và sự nỗ lực của bản thân.

Social work is a professional career with a process of formation and development over a century now in the world. Social work is interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary, based on many scientific theories and empirical research. In order to provide services to disadvantaged groups and those in need, social work also builds and applies appropriate practice models to assist customers in solving their problems based on on the strengths and efforts of themselves.
