This article presented an implementation of the "zone of proximal development" (ZPD) theory developed by Vygotsky in children's language development in a private kindergarten in Hanoi. The results showed that despite initial achievements, families still experienced certain problems. Specialists should give further support for teachers and parents to avoid errors during the implementation of this theory.
