The study was conducted to assess the impacts of drought, salinity intrusion and surface water resource management on agriculture and aquaculture in the Soc Trang Province in the period of 2019 - 2020. The secondary data were collected at the state agencies, direct interviews with farmers was conducted to clarify the extent of damages and assess viewpoint of local residents on surface water resource management policies. A descriptive statistical approach was applied to analyze the relevant collected data, and the state management assessment on surface water resources was evaluated based on the Viewpoints and Quality Assessment Criteria on Issues of State Management Document. The research results showed that drought and salinity intrusion in the period of 2019 - 2020 led to negative effects on agriculture and aquaculture; however, these impacts were of smaller extend compared to what were found during the drought and salinity intrusion in the period of 2015 - 2016. Besides the positive achievements in state management, cooperation between government and local residents is still limited, leading to shortcomings of practicing of state regulations and solutions.
