In a developing country, analysis of the essential source and the consequence of corruption have been advocated by residents and researchers, with the expectation that reducing the level of corruption leads to boost economic growth. However, the literature and practice provide that corrupt activities depend on several component factors, and an anti-corruption campaign is not simple in both the developed and emerging countries. Under the economic perspective, the main aim of this study is to review available studies to provide a multi-dimensional view of corruption, the cause of corruption, and anti-corruption lessons that are appraised as successful in several countries around the world.
