Euplectrus xanthocephalus Girault is ectoparasitic on Spodoptera litura Fabricius; it lays '8 eggs on the larvae host (in the field) and 11 eggs on the larvae hosts (in the laboratory). The number of host larvae parasitized by E. xanthocephalus (usually with 1 to 4 eggs) is 93.72 percent (in the field) and 90.70 percent (in the laboratory). The survival rate of immature stages of offspring of E. xanthocephalus is 53.72 percent (in the field) or 31.79 percent (the laboratory). Sex ratio female:maJes in the offspring is 1.04 (in the laboratory) and 1.98 (in the field). Correlation between the number of eggs on the host and the number of host parasitized. the survival rate of immature stages and the sex ratio of offspring of Euplectrus xanthocephalus Girault ectoparasite on host larvae of Spodoptera litura Fabricius is discussed.
