The research on thrips composition was conducted in Tan Minh. Thuong Tin district and Da Ton, Gia Lam district in Hanoi city and Hanoi University of Agriculture from January, 2012 to May, 2012. Six species of thrips were found on the basil, oregano and vegetable perilla. Three species as Frankliniella intonsa (Trybom), Scirtothrips dorsalis Hood and Haplothrips gowdeyi Franklin were revealed as key insect pests infested on these herbs, of those Frankliniella intonsa is the major insect species. Life cycle of F. intonsa fed on the basil was 19.36 days at the conditions of average lemperature 22.83°C, average humidity 84.89 percent and 17.71 days at the average temperature 25.08°C, average humidity 85.15 percent.
