Natural resources in Attapeu province is rich and potential for development of agriculture, industrial plants, hydro-power and mining. Recently the socio-economic development has improved the lives of people but also caused environmental problems such as soil degradation, logging affect ecosystems and environmental pollution from the socio-economic activities. In general, in Attapeu province, the natural environment is quite good and not found any serious environmental problems. In order to socio-economic development associated with environmental protection, Attapeu province should have the solutions as well as strategy development environment to protect forest and forest ecosystem, soil degradation, water resources and waste treatement that encourages participation of local people in environmental management and protection for sustainable socio-economic development.
