Abiotic stresses such as drought, salt and extreme temperatures adversely affect the growth, development and yield of crops. Cis-acting element and trans-acting elements plays central role in activating the promoter controls the expression of the target genes. Result analysis of promoter activation responses to adverse conditions showed cis-acting element and trans-acting elements related to react to adverse affect from the external environment. The AP2/ERF family is a large family of plant-specific transcription factors that share a well-conserved DNA-binding domain, including four major subfamilies: AP2, RAV, ERF and DREB. Subgroups DREB2 of the subfamily DREB plays important role in stress tolerance by regulating the expression of target genes through sequence ORE/CRT in the promoters. DREB2 activate the transcription of target genes through the interaction between the DRE/CRT and cis-acting element. The interaction of the transcription factors family AP2/ERF with promoters of target genes is an important subject for research and promises many applications in improving drought tolerance of plants, including soybeans.
