By a retrospective study with the case study method of three events on voluntary blood donation in the Fires of International Trade Center, Thong Nhat El Train Wreck and Can Tho Bridge's Spans Collapse, it's findings: information on blood donation is fast spreading in the community through direct and indirect communication, and self-propagation; Red Cross,Youth Union and the Health sector play leading role in organizing blood donation; participants donating blood in disasters are mainly reserve blood donors, officers, employees, students, are mobilized quickly and promptly; number of people registered and participated to donate blood focussing in the first two days of accidents and disasters; the solution of blood donation in the disaster, including: i) capacity building and development of reserve blood donors and development of a volunteer network of voluntary blood donation, ii) developing procedures for blood donation in disaster with the leading role and inter-sectoral coordination of the Steering Committee of voluntary blood donation at alll levels. iii) to hold disaster response exercises. iv) organizing blood donation by three step process when the disaster occurred.
