To study the effect of pH on the absorption of heavy metals (As, Pb, Cd and Zn) by'reed showed that As and Pb are accumulated in leaves and bodies reed with different levels in the dependent pH. The capacity to accumulate As, Pb and Cd in leaves and roofs of reed in treatment I is the highest, which is 20.12 ppm and 75.90 ppm As; 25.67ppm and 94.3 ppm Pb; 15.1 ppm and 82.7ppm Cd in the leaves and roots of reed, respectively. The ability to handle contaminated soil with As decreased from 2.10 times to 9.59 times and Pb is reduced from 7.64 times to 12.32 times to compare with the original.
