The studying result shown that the life cycle of small brown planthopper was 25.07 days at the temperature 30°C and 27.29 days at the temperature 25°C. One female of L. striatellus laid average 144.73 eggs at the temperature 25°C and 120.31 eggs atlhe temperature 30°C, laying time was 7 days. There are two generations of L. striatellus in winter-spring season and summer season among them. The sencond generation was very important to cause losses of rice yields. Among six kinds of pesticides using to control L. striatellus, Penalty Gold 50EC, AUka 247ZC, Penalty 40WP, Sectox 100WP and Bassa 50EC were better than Chess 50WG.
