To study preliminary the rate and some characteristics common complications during the first 24 hours of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Subject and method: 511 patients admitted to hospital emergency and inpatient hospitalization at the Vietnam Heart Institute is divided into 2 groups: the group of urgent PCI and the group of elective PCI. Prospective studies, cross-sectional descriptive, longitudinal follow up within 24 hours from the start of procedure. Results: There are 116 patients with complications, the rate was 22,7 percent. The rate of complications of urgent PCI group (30,2 percent) was higher than elective PCI group (14,4 percent), p 0,001. The complications included: coronary artery perforation (0,2 percent), coronary artery dissection (0,9 percent), no reflow phenomenon (2,7 percent), distal embolization (0,6 percent)i reperfusion syndrome (7,2 percent), cardiac arrhythmias.,(9,8 percent), contrast induced nephropathy (7,8 percent), bleeding and hematoma at the arterial access (1,6 percent). Features: advanced age ( or = 70), procedure of stenting, complete abstruction coronary. Conclusion: 3 groups PCI complications in the first 24 hours, complication rate emergency PCI group higher complication rate elective PCI group.
