The study of potential groundwater recharge in the Mekong Delta region is still limited. The study is to estimate the natural recharge of the groundwater and its response to the rainfall change in Hau Giang province. Based on observed precipitation and water level fluctuations in the past of ten years at eight monitored stations, groundwater recharge has been estimated, and the recharge map for the unconfined aquifer has been established for Hau Giang province. Then, by the obtained correlation equations rainfall and groundwater recharge, recovery potential maps of the groundwater resources for the future in years of 2020 and 2050 have been created using Kriging method under forecast rainfall data from the global climate model which based on Fourth Assessment Report (AR4). The results presented an application approach of data analysis and a tool for estimation and mapping of groundwater recharge. Results of study show the different level and imbalance between the amount of groundwater recharge (supply) and the exploitation (withdraw), which support the subtainable management plan of groundwater resources in Hau Giang province.
