Objectives: to describe the status of providing reproductive health care services to mothers at primary healthcare facilities in the South Central Coast; to identify relative factors and propose some solutions to improve ability of providing the services at these areas. Subjects and methods: a crosssectional descriptive study with quantitative and qualitative methods. Subjects of the study include: management-leadership group, service provider group, the service's beneficiaries (women of childbearing age). The study was conducted in eight provinces in the South Central Coast from Jun 2013 to Mar 2014. Results: The number of obstetric physician was shortage at all levels, especially at the district level. Only three provinces have village midwives. The proportion of women who fell assure, confident to use reproductive health care services at the commune health stations was high (70 percent), at the district level was 90 percent. Conclusion: Overall, the number of medical staffs ware lacking in quantity, especially obstetric doctors. Village medical staffslvillage midwives were not covered comprehensively. Need more investment in human resources and equipment to achieve the effectiveness in reproductive healthcare.
