Phung Tat Dac was a typical prose writer before 1945. He is known as a humorous, profound and deep satirist. The satire of his prose is expressed in the work composing acts (multi-directional idle discursion), in speech subject (suspicious idle discursion) and in the aestheticism of the work (satire idle discursion). Phung Tat Dac is one of few prosers creating his own style. His works make a significant contribution to shaping the genre and to opening directions for the Vietnamese modern prose.
