In swab samples of pneumonia infected pigs based on four groups of different ages, S suis and P. multocida bacterium were separated. In total, all groups of different ages (120 swab samples). Successful separating rate of S. suis bacteria was 51.67 percent. The separating rate of S. suis was highest (59.46 percent) in post-weaning pigs of 2-3 month old and was lowest in young pigs of ftom new-born to 1.5 month old (39.29 percent). Successful separating rate of P. multocida was 16.67 percent. The separating rate of P. multocida was highest (21.62 percent) in post-weaning pigs of 2-3 month old, followed by growers ftom 3-6 months of age and lowest in young pigs of ftom new-born to 1.5 month old (7.14 percent). Biological characteristics of 20 bacterial species of P. multocida and 62 bacterial species of S. suis successfully separated were in agreement with domestic and intematiomil documents' description. P. multocida and S. suis bacterium which were separated from pigs in Bac Giang was highly susceptible with types of antibiotic such as ceftiofur, florfenicol amoxicillin and ofloxacin. They, however, resisted with types of antibiotic including neomycin, colistin, tetracycline, and penicillin G.
