Xuan Thuy National Park has been recognized internationally important wetland area (Ramsar Site) by Secretariat of Ramsar Convention in 1989. It is necessary to develop a set of biodiversity indicators to monitor wetland biodiversity in this area. Using guidance of CBO and Ramsar Convention on development of biodiversity indicators, analyzing status of wetland in Xuan Thuy National Park and management objectives of the area, the core set of biodiversity indicators, which consists of 18 indicators was developed using State-Pressure-Respond approach. The set of indicators is reflecting status of biodiversity, pressures on and responds to biodiversity as well as its benefit to community. This set of indicators should be tested to further complete and applied in monitoring wetland biodiversity in Xuan Thuy National Park in future.
