The influence of ENSO on the Aleutian Low was statistically analyzed for the changes in intensity and scope of this low pressure in each month and each ENSO period as well as the correlation relationship between them in the period 1981-2020. From that, it can be seen that the Aleutian low pressure in the El Nino period is usually stronger than in the La Nina periods and not ENSO. During most months, the Aleutian Low tends to expand to the west during the La Nina periods, but widens more eastward, northward, and especially southward during the El Nino periods. The intensity of this low pressure has a close relationship with the SST in the NINO.3 region in January, February and March. This once again confirms the intensification of the Aleutian depression during this time when El Nino appears. The variation in intensity as well as the extent of the Aleutian Low also has a significant influence on the activity of cold air in winter in Vietnam.
